CMR Consignment Note
The consignment note for international road transport in Europe, issued in three copies.
Governed by the CMR Convention. Three copies: red for the sender, blue travelling with the goods to the consignee, green retained by the carrier.
It is evidence of the contract of carriage. Once it is signed on delivery, it serves as proof of delivery. Unlike a bill of lading, it is not a document of title.
Also called: CMR, consignment note.
