Container Freight Station (CFS)
Where LCL cargo is consolidated into containers and broken out again at the other end.
Every LCL shipment passes through one at each end. That adds handling charges, a delivery order at destination, and days that are not transit but are real.
For US-bound cargo the CFS address is also the container stuffing location required on the ISF — an address you do not have unless you ask the consolidator for it.
Also called: CFS.
