Gross Weight

Goods plus packaging plus pallet. The figure that must match across every document.

Gross weight appears on the packing list, the bill of lading and most transport documents. The broker at destination checks it across the whole set. It has to be the same everywhere it appears.

It is not the same as the verified gross mass. The VGM also includes the container's own tare weight, so it is correctly higher.
