Switch Bill of Lading
A second set replacing the first, usually to keep a supplier's identity from the final buyer.
Legitimate and common in triangular trade. Shipper, consignee, notify party, port of loading and goods description can be reissued.
Container number, seal number, gross weight, vessel and voyage cannot — those describe a physical box, and changing them makes the document false rather than switched.
The carrier requires all originals of the first set back before issuing the second. Two sets in circulation means two parties holding title to one container.
