How it works
Loading metres = package length in metres × width in metres × quantity ÷ trailer width in metres. A 1.2 × 0.8 m pallet uses 0.4 loading metres in a 2.4 m-wide trailer.
This is an area equivalent. Actual loading can require more length because of gaps, orientation, protrusions, securing and axle loads. Non-stackable freight may be rated by floor space.
